I’ve arranged to walk the Heaphy over Easter with a group of five. A party
member has had to pull out so now we are on the hunt for a replacement to
help share the charter flight costs (Mit from Adventure Flights – works out
to $600 return each but saves massively on travel time. We get dropped right
at the Takaka end/Browns Hut start of the track).
The flight leaves early morning wellington and takes us to Brown Hut. Return
pick up is from Karamea airport.
The hut passes are booked for Thurs, Fri and Saturday nights.
Is there anyone in the club who would like to come along?
We have also organised shuttle (Kohaihai to Karamea) and accommodation at
Karamea.
We have one night in Karamea and then a trip to Oparara Arches in the morning
before Mit comes to pick us up from the airport.
Anyone who comes with us is welcome to spend as much time or as little time
with us as they wish.
