Signing up for a trip

To sign up for any trip

  1. consult the latest trip schedule
  2. then come along to our club night, held each Wednesday, and write your name and contact details on the sign-up sheet or
  3. email the trip leader directly.
  4. Send an email to a committee member with the contact form.

Alpine trips often book up well in advance of their running dates.  We therefore advise that you sign up for, or at least enquire about, a trip well in advance.

When to sign up

Trips generally go up on the board at the club rooms at least six weeks before the trip date. To help us plan food and transport, you need to sign up to a trip least

  • three Wednesdays before a North Island trip and
  • four Wednesdays before a South Island trip.


If you have not been on a trip with us before, please contact the trip leader or the chief guide before you sign up. They will help you chose the right trip. Please don’t be offended if leaders of harder trips suggest you sign up for an easier trip or ask detailed questions about your level of experience. We want you to have a good experience in the hills!

If you have already been on a trip with us, and can’t come to club night to sign up, please contact our Chief Guide or the leader directly.

You will need to pay to confirm your place on the trip.
