DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Harry Smith\n\n\n\n\n\nI am going to talk about two little-known huts that I visited with Kevin Cole on our way back to Wellington at the end of our Christmas trip in the Canterbury High Country in 2018. The club has occasionally run Mystery Trips where the participants don’t know in advance where they are going; in that spirit\, this is going to be a Mystery Talk and I am not going to reveal the names and locations of the huts\, even during the talk! All I can say is that they are:\n  – located somewhere in the upper half of the South Island\n  – great places to go to but seldom visited\n  – easily accessible in a day on tracks\n  – in stunning locations with superb views\nCome along and see if you can figure out where they are!

DESCRIPTION:Instead of having a talk\, we are going to have a planning session for trips for the Spring/Summer club schedule. The schedule will run from October through until February next year\, and includes opportunities for longer trips over Wellington anniversary and Waitangi weekends.\n \nSo\, come along with your ideas for club trips\, or if you just want to see how the trip planning process works. You don’t have to be a trip leader\, or even an experienced tramper – all are welcome!\n \nThe trip planning session will run from 7-8pm\, and there will be free pizza to help you come up with ideas.

DESCRIPTION:18/08: This event has been postponed due to the change to Alert Level 4.\n\nBring along your best homemade baking for a chance to win the prestigious ‘Golden Spork’!\n7pm – Doors open. Tables will be set up for you to display your baking. \n7:20pm – Tasting\, judging and voting for People’s Choice starts. This category includes anything you think you can make mid-tramp\, with what you have carried into a hut. What’s your go-to recovery eating recipe?
