DESCRIPTION:The best of the New Zealand Mountain Film Festival National Tour is coming back to Wellington with a double feature! \nPart 1: Kiwi Made \nAward winning films either made in NZ or films made by New Zealanders include discovering the Dasler Pinnacles in the Hopkins Valley\, exploring caves and couloirs in the North Routeburn Valley\, an 11-day loop of the second largest national park in NZ by bike and boat\, portrait of freediver Kathryn Nevatt the former World Champion and current New Zealand record holder in all freediving disciplines\, crossing the Southern Alps over the Main Divide from East to West starting at the Liebigs\, a journey into Morocco’s Atlas Mountains and a self-supported sea kayak expedition in Antarctica. \nDoors open at 6pm\, films start at 6:30pm \nTickets available online \n$20 general admission \n$15 WTMC\, VUWTC and TTC club members \n$10 student with ID \n  \nFollow the Facebook event page for updates \nDon’t forget to check out Part 2: Best of the 2019 NZ Mountain Film Festival – Best of the Festival

DESCRIPTION:We’re hosting a screening of the documentary Fools and Dreamers: Regenerating A Native Forest from the team at Happen Films. \nFools & Dreamers is a 30-minute documentary telling the story of Hinewai Nature Reserve\, on Canterbury’s Banks Peninsula\, and its kaitiaki/manager of 32 years\, renowned botanist Hugh Wilson. \nLearn about the work of Hugh and the Maurice White Native Forest Trust to regenerate marginal\, hilly farmland into native forest\, using a minimal interference method that allows nature to do the work\, giving life to over 1500 hectares of native forest\, waterways\, and the creatures that live within them.
