At the Search and Rescue AGM on 30 August 2012, retiring member Ian Bunckenburg – ‘Buncks’ – received a long service award in recognition of his many years of service to search and rescue in the Wellington region. As well as his time spent on operations, Bunks has spent a considerable amount of time mentoring junior team members and passing on his experience to others.
