Hi folks,
The following is the line up until Christmas:
- This coming Wednesday 5 November, Mike G will share his experiences from his recent trip doing the Annapurna circuit.
- Mike is also one of the speakers for the following Wednesday when he and Amelia will talk about the Ruapehu lodge in summer.
- Sue Walsh will be talking about her recent trip to Iceland and Greenland on Nov 19th.
- Nov 26th we have an extraordinary general meeting scheduled (see the president’s column for more information.
- Dec 3rd is going to be an extra special night with the official launch of the 7th edition of the SK anthology of stories detailing epic traverses of the entire Tararua Range (Schormann to Kaitoke) in a weekend or less. There will be a range of speakers including a representative from the first team to complete the traverse and 7th edition editors Megan Sety and Tony Gazley.
- Harry Smith follows hot on their heels on Dec 10th with Part II of his Cycle Tour in the Victorian Alps.
Harry’s is the last presentation of the year although the club rooms will be open for gear on Dec 17th and Jan 7th.
As always, I’m on the look-out for presentations and expect a rush of feet after Christmas with loads of you lining up to talk about your Christmas adventures. I’m always happy for you also to dob in a mate or source a speaker yourself. In doing this though I make a plea that you let me know about the speakers and dates before confirming anything and adding them to the roster.
