I have a trip of 5 adults and 4 older teenagers walking the Heaphy Track 5th to 10th October as part of their Gold Duke of Edinburgh/Sir Edmond Hillary Challenge Award. There is room for 3 others in the Nelson Lake Shuttles Vans and on the block ferry booking if you would like to join us as a self catering /independently walkers from our group of 9. We leave Tuesday 5th Oct on the morning ferry to the top of the track. We leave the track on Sat 9th, staying at a backpackers in St Arnard on Saturday night and come home on the midday ferry on Sunday 10th. Shuttle is $160-$170 ish, plus ferry, plus backpackers,plus hut fees/camp fees. It is high season so the gas will be on and the track will not be busy, unlike in the summer.
