The Mukamuka Munter is on Saturday 15 September.

I’ll be co-ordinating a group effort if there is any interest.

To expand slightly on the complete lack of information on the trip sheet at the clubrooms (my bad):

MM is a 29km trail run from the mouth of the Orongorono river up the Mukamuka valley to South Saddle then back down to the river via the Orongorongo track to the the Catchpool creek DoC base.

Entry is $25, or $30 if you leave entering till after 8 Sep.

To check out the race rules and compulsory gear, and enter go to:

I’m up for running it!! I heard one of the trampers we met up at Tutuwai hut over the weekend talking about it so had a look at the website yesterday. Haven’t done lots of running training recently but I’m sure I can run, walk, stagger and crawl the 29km….
There’s not a lot of info on the website/entry form – map of the course and other race info??

I would need to carpool with someone to get there.

Sharron – I will put my name up on the list on Wednesday.

Just a quick reminder if you are thinking of entering the Mukamuka Munter do so before close of play Sat 8 Sep or you’ll have to pay $30 rather than $25 for the pleasure of cruising the Mukamuka valley and the Orongorongo track.
Race starts at 8.30am on Sat 15 Sep. You can either tramp the course or run it but if you arent at the Mukamuka Valley entrance by 12pm you’ll be turned back. Once you’ve entered you get a map and stuff.

If you’ve entered and want to carpool get in touch or sign up at the Clubrooms on Wed 5 Sep. I’m going to try and get some tips from WTMCers who have done the event previously.

I am going to do the Mukamuka as well.

I would be keen on car-pooling too. I am keen on car-pooling too. Let me know what you have planned.

Hi Sharron, how did this go?? As hard and evil as it sounded on the website?
