DoC will be logging a block of exotic timber (afterwards area will be returned to native bush) at the Waiohine Road end, starting early Feb. 2001 and going on for about four months.

During the logging operation there will be no camping permited at this road end, and the two-hour Waiohine Loop track will be closed. At times delays can be expected getting to this road end. The road end will be closed for a week some time during the logging operation.

      Cheers, Glynne

P.S. If anyone reading this is interested in Why Doc are doing this then this is clearly explained in a letter I have from them.
