Committee positions becoming available
We are looking for new people to step up, as a number of committee positions will become available later this year. Processing new memberships, organising speakers for club nights, keeping our finances tidy, coordinating transport for club trips, and more… there is something for everyone!
Do you want to…
– help run the club and enable over 600 members to enjoy the outdoors?
– bring new ideas to the table?
– be more connected with the tramping community and club members?
– gain leadership experience and skills that will benefit you professionally?Most committee positions do not require specific skills or tramping experience. If you are motivated and interested in contributing, there is a role waiting for you! We meet once a month and welcome new members around the table. Handover and support will be provided to individuals joining the committee.
Positions to be filled:
– President: chair Committee meetings, ensure club activities are consistent with the club’s purpose and that committee members carry out their assigned functions
– Vice President: support the President in any or all of their responsibilities
– Treasurer: ensure funds and finances are accounted and recorded, provide financial statements
– Secretary: support the administration of the Committee, for example manage correspondence, take minutes, file documents etc
– Membership Officer: process applications for new members, maintain membership database and details
– Transport Officer: coordinate transport for club trips, book rental vehicles and ferries
– Lodge Convenor: chair the lodge commitee and manage matters relating to the Ruapehu Lodge
– Promotions Officer: promote the club to attract new members, promote club activities and events
– Social Convenor: arrange speakers and greet people on club nights, organise social eventsMore information and indicative position descriptions are available here. Volunteering opportunities
If you want to help without joining the committee, there are a range of one-off or regular opportunities to support the club! We are all volunteers and every bit helps. We are looking for people to greet people at the door on club nights, help with gear pick up/drop off, van cleaning, helping with club nights, emergency contacts, lead trips, organise training etc.
