We maintain two facilities for use by members (and non-members with conditions) consisting of a lodge on Mt Ruapehu and a backcountry hut in the Ōrongorongo Valley.
WTMC Ruapehu Lodge
A 32-bunk well-equipped mountain lodge located in Iwikau Village on Ruapehu (next to Whakapapa Skifield), available for online booking to members and non-members, serving as an ideal base for both winter skiing/snowboarding and summer tramping in Tongariro National Park. Around 4½ hours drive from Wellington. Bookable by members and non-members.
Pāua Hut – a 10-bunk comfortable backcountry hut in the Ōrongorongo Valley, available for online booking and accessed via a 2-hour walk from Catchpool car park, Remutaka Forest Park. Around 1 hour drive from Wellington. Bookable by members.
