BIZARRE FORMATTING ISSUE – CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE?
The story of a visit to the WTMC Mt Ruapehu Lodge cut short because the text keeps jiggling.
I’m trying to write a post to this forum about a tramping trip I went on at Mt Ruapehu but the words keep jiggling.
I was in a group that stayed in your wonderful WTMC Ruapehu Lodge. This is a truly great place to stay and do daytrips into the Dual World Heritage National Park that has such outstanding tramping areas.
We made some easy, some difficult, but always enjoyable trips and then could look forward to a warm comfortable night’s rest before heading out again the next day.
But I won’t write anymore until someone can tell me why my typing is jiggling. It’s very annoying and making me giddy.
Thanks

I had the same problem. You need to stop your keyboard from jiggling – the jiggles are transferred permanently into the text.
I used a good-sized thumbscrew through the keyboard into the table. You lose the use of a few keys but there are workarounds for that.

Arthur and Colin.
Any chance you experienced the jiggling while up at the lodge?
If so, maybe Dorothy Gimbal is messing with you. Perhaps upon arrival next time you visit, look up to the ceiling and acknowledge out loud her Ode to the Lodge.
(It’s a fine Ode to what we all know is a fine lodge.)

Hello Arthur and Colin
What are you guys on about? We all agree the WTMC Ruapehu Lodge is this amazing place to be and there is so much to do here.
But somehow you can’t manage something as simple as typing up your trip report. How do you get dressed in the morning?
Just sit quietly at a dining room table and relax like I am in the photo above. Your text will be fine without screwing your keyboard to the table – look at mine.
Nicely set out with good leading for easy reading. Words evenly spaced with no hyphenation and proper kerning. Professional – and definitely no jiggles.
And I agree with Heather that Dorothy’s ode is very good – guess neither of you have listened to it but you should.
See you up here sometime.

A reply to Dorothy
Up on the mountain, where the air’s crisp and clear,
Sits a very fine lodge, says Dorothy, old dear.
Inside, there’s a game that thrills with no shame,
Jenga’s the challenge, bringing laughter we hear. The blocks rise and wobble, the tower’s a good height,
It jiggled and jittered, but stood with all might.
But one jiggle too many and down it would fall,
In a very fine lodge that brings fun for all.Anon
