WTMC Social | What happened to the Queen’s Chain?
Wed 27 Mar @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Join us for our regular club social to catch up with other club members about recent trips, start thinking about some new ones, and hear from guest speaker Stephen Day, Communications Manager at Herenga ā Nuku Aotearoa, the Outdoor Access Commission.
.
Tonight’s social talk will cover the history of the Queen’s Chain – the near-mythical concept of a strip of public land running along all water margins in NZ. Stephen will also touch on other aspects of Herenga ā Nuku’s work to support outdoor recreation in New Zealand, including supporting public access to the Ruahine range and Lake Waikaremoana.
.
Promises to be fascinating, so do come along to hear from Stephen!
.
7:00pm: doors, gear pickup/return and tea and biscuits – say hi to a member if you’re new!
7:30: club announcements
