  Hi,
  
  Due to the “people” – [ description edited by the webmaster] at Interislander, the trips to Mt Richmond Forest Park have had to be cancelled. This is due to the gangway repair or replacement ….. and they consider it a health & safety issue to walk on via the car ramp! Subsequently they have reduced their foot passengers to very few and Friday night crossing is not possible. After investigating using other boats, airlines etc, no reasonably priced alternative was found, hence the cancellation.
  
  Please note, this does not affect the 3 day trip to Mt Angelus that will proceed, departing Wellington on the Thursday night.
  
  As a result for those keen trampers, we are planning some alternative routes in the North Island ….. come along, sign up and take a look at the newest hut in the Tararuas! The proposed routes are:
  
  Easy – New Waiopehu Hut
  Medium – New Waiopehu Hut / Gable End Ridge
  Fit – similar area, route to be determined.
  
  The cost for these trips will be approx $25 members / $30 non members.

  Ahh the joys of being a monopoly. Surely there are ways of managing H&S risks for foot passengers entering on the car deck. Bring back Top Cat.

  OK, no trips to the Tararuas …. Interislander have now said they can accept the WTMC on the boat ….. must have been nervous after their prior efforts at stuffing us around and being dragged through the media and the Commerce Commission.
  
  As a result, the Tararua trips have been cancelled and we’ll be heading south as originally planned. The transport is full with the original group, so sorry there will be no late bookings.
