?BIKE WISE COMMUTER
CHALLENGE?
Bike To Work Day sees Wellington City Council and Cycle Aware Wellington providing a FREE breakfast and spot prizes to those cycling into the city. MPs Marion Hobbs, Rod Donald and Sue Kedgley and Wellington City Councillors will greet cyclists and show us their own skills on Wellington?s own Enormous Crocodiles bikes.
Meanwhile the Bike Wise Commuter Challenge will decide the best mode of rush-hour traffic. Cyclist vs. Car Driver vs. Bus Commuter with a separate threesome starting from four Wellington Suburbs and all converging on Civic Square.FRIDAY 23rd FEB 5:30pm ?CRITICAL MASS? (Not truly part of Bike Week because this event occurs spontaneously, rather than being organised) Starting from Civic Square. Cycles will join with scooters, prams, roller-blades etc. to form a traffic jam with a difference.

The parade goes from the top of Cuba St. through to Chaffers Park. Cyclists should bring lights, reflectors, tinsel, foil and as bright a costume as possible.SUNDAY, 25 Feb 10am-12pm. ?BIG BIKE BONANZA?.
Family skills courses, bike checks and instruction.

Round-the-Bays will take cyclists from Chaffers Park at 2pm finishing at the carpark at the Evans Bay Yacht Club. This will mark the completion of the cycle track from the Eastern suburbs to the city. Contact: Paul Barker 499 4444 .
