DOC issued an alert on 20 July 2017.
“Jumbo Hut is closed until further notice – an engineer’s report has found the hut is unsafe. Mattresses and gas have been removed.” -
Jumbo hut is now back in service. Bookings required up to Easter to guarantee a bunk. If you have a Backcountry Hut Pass, phone the DOC Visitor Centre to book.
