DoC are interested in the views of our club and others as to which huts in the Tararuas should be a priority for replacement/upgrade.

Over the summer DoC will be replacing Totara Flats Hut (present hut is vulnerable to be washed away by flooding in the future), Elder Biv is planned for replacement also, and we are presently progressing the replacement of Mountain House with a shelter.

However, beyond this DoC are interested in any views we have about other priorities.
Two huts that are being put forward as potential prirorities for replacement are Atiwahakatu Hut (but not on its present site) and Roaring Stag Lodge.

What do consider should be the priorities for hut replacement in the Tararuas?

We are interested in your views so we can respond to DoC on this
