Well the subs for the year and all in – and the last one – from our estemmed colleague Harry Smith (formerly retired) are now in..

Does this mean that Harry has emerged from retirement? or is this a temporary lapse of judgement? (or maybe he just wanted to spend his birthday up at the lodge during Solstice…)

What’s next? Will Harry go for a tramp in the Tararuas again??

I think Harry was enticed back by the opportunity to do the trip up to Tarn Ridge on the weekend of 29 June – 1 July. Rumour has that its going to be a good one. NO doubt he wants to beat the rush to get his name signed up for this exciting trip.

I can’t imagine that Harry, who needs all his money for plays and concerts and movies and books and records and fish and chips and rent on 17 George St, could possibly have afforded to pay a sub to WT&MC. The person who paid must be an impostor. We need some way of checking whether the person who paid the sub is or is not Harry.

The Tarn Ridge trip could be a suitable test. Tarn Ridge is in the Tararuas. If the person goes, then he/she is definitely NOT Harry.
