Forest & Bird Wellington: We “Give Nature a Voice” — OK, so what do we actually do?

Wed 9 Dec 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

FREE

Most people in New Zealand have heard of Forest & Bird, but few are aware of the range of activities its members get involved with. With the largest number of members of any environmental group in New Zealand, the members of its 45+branches undertake a wide range of conservation projects, as well as writing submissions, letters and emails to local authorities and using social media in an attempt to “Give Nature a Voice”.

Ken New has been a member for 40 years and for the last 10 years he’s been part of the Wellington Branch committee, most recently as Secretary. He was also Chairperson of the Southern Environmental Association for several years. His love for the environment has taken him tramping in the UK, most states of Australia and on several of the Great Walks of New Zealand. Ken will give an illustrated talk about the various Forest & Bird projects currently under way in the Wellington region and will be happy to answer any questions you may have about Forest & Birdand its activities, locally or nationally.
