I’ve just added a new trip to the end of the current schedule – squeezing in a navigation adventure along Blue Range in the Tararua before the snow arrives. May feels like a good month for fairly close to home nav practice, combined with a warm fire and potentially gourmet feast at Mitre Flats Hut. You can sign up here – closes 5th May.

Nav (M) Tararua FP, Mitre Flats Hut from Kiriwhakapapa. (Leader – Emily Shrosbree). Walk into Blue Range hut on Friday night. Saturday, south along Blue Range via Te Mara and Bruce Hill then down to Mitre Flats. Sunday, back up onto Blue Range and back to Kiriwhakapapa via Bruce Hill and Mikimiki old tram track.
