Keen to get into New Zealand’s great outdoors but don’t know where to start?
WTMC Bushcraft will give you the confidence and skills you need. This weekend course covers the basics about what to take, what to expect and how to look after yourself. It’s designed for people over the age of 18 who are interested in tramping with our club in the future. You’ll get some basic, practical instruction on navigation and river crossings, find out how club trips work, and meet some friendly new faces. And you’ll stay at the club’s hut in the Orongorongos, an easy two-hour tramp from the carpark.
When: the weekend of 8-10 March (plus a gear session on Wednesday 26 February from 7-7.30pm)
Cost: $55 (includes transport, an MSC bushcraft manual and accommodation at Paua hut )
Sign up: either put your name on the sign up sheet at the club rooms on a Wednesday night, or email Amanda.
Numbers are limited to 12; so first in, first served.
If you want to know a bit more about what to expect, have a read of the trip report from last year’s bushcraft.
