Join the 18/19 WTMC Committee – we need your help!

We’re looking for new committee members to help run WTMC!

Several current committee members will be stepping down in April having played their part in helping WTMC to run like clockwork over the past year – thanks everyone!

We’re looking for members who are keen to help out running the club by taking on one of the available committee roles. Getting involved is a great way to give back to the club and say thank you for all the wonderful hours you’ve spent in the hills with us.

The key roles we still need to fill to enable the club to function are:

Social Convenor

The Social Convenor is often ‘the Face of the Club’ hosting our Wednesday evening club nights. They also have the vital role of supplying the tea and biscuits for the evening (costs covered by the club of course). Ideally, one person would take on this role as a ‘coordinator’, but have a team of three or four people willing to commit to hosting one Wednesday night per month. Email to find out more about either the coordinator role or joining our team of ‘hosts’.

Promotions

The Promotions Officer’s main duties are to roster volunteers to ‘man’ the door on club nights, to organise ‘New Members’ nights and to organise other adhoc events throughout the year. For example, the current Promotions Officer helped out with the organisation for the recent Club 70th Birthday celebrations. Email to find out more or nominate yourself or a fellow member.

Communications

The Communications Officer coordinates our team of social media volunteers who keep our Facebook and Instagram pages up-to-date with the latest club events and news. This year the Communications Officer also helped organise some Media and Incident Management training for the committee. Email to find out more or nominate yourself or a fellow member.

Vice President

The Vice President supports the President and the whole committee with whatever they need support with. This year the VP helped out with writing the Annual Report, preparing some incident management guidelines for the committee and chairing the odd committee meeting when the President was on his holibobs. Email to find out more or nominate yourself or a fellow member.

The committee meet for an hour once a month. One of our core principles is to keep the work load for each committee member to just what’s necessary so we can all still get in plenty of (off)track-time!

To join the committee, complete a nomination form or email an existing committee member to get more information on what is involved. The completed form should be given the secretary (who can often be found at club night), or you can scan it and send it to .

You can see the makings of the awesome team you will be working with at Nominations for the 2018/19 Committee. Huge thanks to those who’ve already stepped up to help out for the coming year.
