Fancy yourself an adventure writer or film producer? Then enter your work in the writing or film competition at the 16th annual NZ Mountain Film and Book Festival. The festival is looking for entries of relevant writing in three categories; unpublished short articles or essays, fiction or poetry and non-fiction literature. The competition is open to everyone, you don’t have to be an established professional author. In fact, we’d really like to encourage authors of self-published titles, and amatuer adventure writers to enter. The competition is a great opportunity to get your work seen, as all the published entries will be displayed during the festival, and books can be made available for sale. Entries on writing close on the 30 March 2018, so be in quick!

The festival is also looking for film entries in a number of different categories, from first time film makers to seasoned professionals. While the theme is: Adventurous Sports and Lifestyles, the subject matter criteria is broad as long as there is a link with adventurous sports or people and take place in the world’s mountains, lakes, rivers, oceans or skies (mountain climbing, rock or ice climbing, caving, kayaking, white water rafting, base jumping, paragliding etc are all included). Films are being accepted until 30 April 2018.
