Lodge Update: Our Maunga May 2021

The mountain has had more sprinklings of snow indicating that things up there are getting cooler along with the days getting shorter. The lift operator is flat out making snow in the Happy Valley beginners’ area which will be open from Queens Birthday weekend. Our Summer rates apply over Queens Birthday. We can only open if we have a capable leader. Our Winter rates apply from July 2nd.

We are moving forward for Winter bookings. To try and please all we are trying to cater for those who need to plan well ahead and for those who are not able to decide when to make bookings till nearer the time. Bookings are filling up. All Winter spaces will be available for booking by July 1st.

For more information on how this works go to the lodge bookings page. Even if you are not making a booking, if you want to keep up to date with how things are, this is the page with up-to-date booking information: https://wtmc.org.nz/lodge/how-to-book-the-lodge/

For the lodge the membership status is now frozen meaning that people can join the club during winter but the non-member rates and priority status for the lodge will remain until the end of October, so please do not hassle our booking team with excuses.

Keep the following dates in mind or better still on your calendar:

Friday 9th July to departure Sunday 25th July: school holidays
Sunday 8th August to departure Friday 13th August: ski week 1

The weeks but not the weekends between the above dates are already booked up.

Sunday 13th September to departure Friday 17th September: ski week 2
Friday 1st October to Sunday 17th October: school holidays.

We now have a Lodge Promotions Officer and our Lodge Secretary returning so what is left is still a helper for the bookings team. There is always room for those who feel that they can contribute to the running of the lodge.

By the time you read this there will be helpers at the lodge cleaning and restocking supplies to make the place spick and span for the winter season. And a great season it is going to be!
