260 topo maps still online free?

  The whole 260 topo maps – in all detail – were on a site for free viewing and I cant find my relevant info on this. Are the maps still available and is a password still needed? Im particularly interested in investigating road and rail tunnels on/near the Stratford to Taumaranui highway. (e.g. as would be shown on R19 Whangamomona map. Thanks.

  Its a bit slow and panning and zooming can be a bit hit and miss. You can search by feature names. I wasn’t aware of any other site that had all maps free online

  I use the LINZ site. It’s OK but the print quality tends to be poor. It’s best for trip planning.
