Hi all,
We’re kicking of summer by passing on an invitation from Claire Clements who is a researcher with the Natural History TV producers in Dunedin (http://www.nhnz.tv). They are in the early stages of making a TV series about NZ’s national parks, and they are looking for interesting peak bagging stories for potential inclusion in the series.
So if you’re interested in sharing your peak bagging adventures with the world, email Claire at
Here’s some of the types of things she’d love to hear about from people:
* Any big plans in 2012 to bag a peak in a National Park for an individual or a group? It would be good to talk to people that peak bag together or in certain groups – couples/siblings/best friends/ families…
* Any big moments for a peak bagger coming up in 2012 – planning to bag your 50th, 100th peak?? Planning to get married on a peak?
* Any life changing moments for people from participating in peak bagging in a National Park?
* People who are peak bagger’s and also has involvement in the park in another capacity i.e. tour guide, fauna/flora researcher, artist“So we are looking for interesting stories from people but also any upcoming peak bagging plans (that we could potentially film).
The National Parks we will be covering (with peaks) are:
Fiordland
Kahurangi
Paparoa
Aoraki/MtCook
Westland/ Tai Poutini
Tongariro
WhanganuiIt is early days of research so we’ll have to see how things pan out but I think peak bagging could be a great story and certainly is something that happens a lot in national parks.”
