For this perfect trip directly after Easter (6 and 7 April) all you need is a bike that is suitable on gravel and can take panniers, a moderate fitness and half a tent.
The idea is to take the early ferry Sat morning, cycling south bound from Picton, then take the gravel roads along the coast to Whitemans Bay to camp. Proceeding Sunday to Picton and return by ferry to Wgtn on Sun evening again. As we live in Nelson we won’t be able to guide people to/from the ferry and won’t be at club nights to advertise the trip. Thanks Helen for pointing out that it should actually be Whites Bay and not Whitemans Bay (although the name apparently originates from a white man living in that bay amongst locals after landing from his ship). Anyway it’s where the DOC campsite is, about 40 km from Picton.
