If you are interested in the history of some of the more interesting outdoor adventures in NZ check out the series currently screening on TV1 at 8.30pm on Tuesday nights – First Crossings.

So far the crossings screened have been reinactions of Whitcombe and Lauper’s epic first crosssing of the Southern Alps, Grave and Talbolt’s 1910 expeditions in search of a suitable tourist track across the Darrens and Fyfe and Graham’s 1894 first ascent of Mt De La Beche in Mt Cook NP.
