Hi there,
I just moved from Scotland to Plimmerton and I am looking forward to some tramping later in the year but I lack confidence with bushcraft (esp. river crossings and navigational skills). I looked around for courses (OPC and Mountain Safety) but none are offering anything in the near future or they are too far away.
Anyway, I am looking for someone to give me a short introduction in map reading and such. Basics. What do I need to know especially in New Zealand?
Any recommendations in regard of literature or if somebody got some spare time to meet up for a chat and coffee – everything is very much appreciated!
