Ronie’s no longer able to lead this trip, so I’m looking for another keen leader.

The route is fairly straightforward, with a lovely newish hut and grassy flats to while away the afternoon. There’s one seciton of slip that needs a bit of care, so you’d need to help your punters through there if necessary.

I’d question whether the hut and/or the track are still in existence after 1.25m of rain in the Tararuas during February. Not less than 2 years ago a group of Otaki women decided a chopper was the better means of exiting from the hut…
