Got skins? wanna have a fun weekend, do something differant?
Give the Manganui Rando Race a go. This saturday the 16th August 2008.

Registration from 9am on field.

Briefing and Race start approximately 11am.

Entry Fee $35 includes lift ticket.

Open male and female class. Telemark, Alpine touring, Split board and Snow shoe/Snow board are all suitable set ups. (single lap for snow shoers)

All prizes are spot prizes. Deuter Ski and snowboard Packs, Leiki poles, NZAC books, Buff head wear.

As long as conditions allow the race will take place. Make the effort to come on up.

We had a blast at Rainbow last weekend. It was the first time in a rando race for most of us and everyone was grinning after and looking forward to the next event.

So make a weekend of it, try the race out, try Taranaki out, stay at the lodge and drink a beer after with some relaxed and chilled back country people.

Due to the severe weather forcast for Mt Taranaki on Saturday the 16th we regrettably have decided to postpone the Manganui Rando race until a weekend in September, date to be confirmed.
The Avalanche advisory for Manganui ski area is HIGH and as this affects the ski area access unfortunatly it makes moving the event to Sunday logistically difficult for both SkimoNZ and Manganui Ski Area.

We sorry if this causes any inconvenience for participants, naturally safety takes priority in these situations.

However we would like to thank everyone for the high level of interest shown, and are pleased to announce that due to the large number of requests from snow shoers, we are happy to include snow shoeing in the rescheduled event.
