Do you know how dodgy it would be to do these tracks in mid september? likelyhood of too much snow/nasty weather/avalance danger? if you have any ideas or predictions can you let me know please.

Avalanche danger is the main problem …… I would suggest you give DoC in TeAnau and Glenorchy a call to get a better idea. As the snow conditions vary from year to year, it will be hard to predict but my guess is that the Milford has more problems than the other 2, which I think have a good chance of being OK.

Also the Harris Saddle area on the Routeburn is a known avalanche risk in winter. So you will need to get advise on that one as well.
