BURN THE OLD – OPEN THE NEW

7-8 June 2003

WTMC, with support form DOC and a Lottery Grant, have demolished Mountain House and replaced it with a new shelter. All that is left to do is to burn the remains of the old Mountain House and open the new shelter. Come along and join the fun.

The programme:

Friday 5:30 pm Club bus departs from the railway station

Saturday morning: Complete demolition works. Can anyone bring sapre hammers and jemmy bars?

Saturday midday: Light the fire

Saturday 2:30 pm: Official opening of Mountain House and a ?brew?

Saturday 6:30 pm until late: Lamb-on-the-spit and other goodies compliments of the remains of Mountain House

Sunday afternoon: Travel back to Wellington

Hope you can come. FEEL FREE to dress up in period tramping attire – hobnail boots and all!
