Hi all!

As Sharon has rightly pointed out, the SNOW HAS ARRIVED! The skifield is open (albeit with a small base so far) and its likely to get better over the next couple of weeks – snow is currently predicted almost every day this week.
SO
That means its time to start seriously considering your winter plans for skiing, climbing and enjoying our wonderful lodge.

This year we would love to introduce new people to the club lodge. Many people simply do not know that the lodge is there, or assume that its an expensive place to stay. We need to remind people otherwise!

For a weekend, members pay only $68, and non-members $105 for two nights accommodation and ALL MEALS from Saturday breakfast through to Sunday lunch. Whats not to like!?! Could you find a motel in Ohakune for that much in winter? We also have some awesome new recipes going in to the lodge this winter, thanks heaps to Marie Smith and Sue Walsh for their hard work on this.

So tell your friends, and your workmates – our tramping club lodge is open for winter skiing! Invite them along for a ski weekend, use Facebook / twitter to tell them about it. Set a date and email Brian to reserve your spaces! Remember that a certain number of non-members CAN book in to the lodge from the weekend bookings open – so book early to secure your awesome weekend away with friends.

Lets get excited about our wonderful mountain facility too. If you have a spare weekend, dont just assume the lodge will be full – with 32 bunks available every night, there is more space than you think! Lodge bookings are only an email away.

Our exciting lodge website relaunch is also less than a month away (hopefully!), so if you have good photos of the lodge and / or the mountain that you are OK with us using – please continue to email them to me.
