Still conditions encouraged a good turn out at yesterday’s Trampers Challenge at Eastbourne. With over 35 teams, amounting to 60 plus participants, the event had a great feel to it. WTMC did well with the first women’s team placing above some of the fastest mixed teams and 2nd/3rd places in individual men going to WTMC. No Mens team fielded this year by WTMC – so start training for next year to give TTC a run for their money. A good sized crowd hung around for the prizegiving, bbq and volleyball. The handcrafted wooden cube puzzles as place prizes were well received – thanks John Rhodes. Thanks again to Stuart Palmer for running (and participating) in such a smoothly run event.
Lesson for next year – a more authoritative starter. By 3 of a 10 count countdown kayakers from clubs (who will remain nameless) were already heading for their boats!
