As an addition to our weekly buggy walking club outings, we have decided to do a few extra weekend walks so that dads can get in on the action!

Sooo the inaugural weekend buggy walk will be this Sunday, meet at Catchpoole rd end Wainuiomata 10.30 am

We will walk into the Orongorongo river along the 5 mile track. It is a tramping track, and will be a good grunt with a buggy, but very doable as all of the bridges have been fixed and the track is in very good condition with boardwalks on some of the former rutted sections. Backpack might still be the preferred option.

Directions: Take the Coast Road to Catchpool Valley, 12 km south of Wainuiomata in the Hutt Valley. The track starts from the car park at the top of the Catchpool Valley. Cross the footbridge to the left of the car park. The track is well signposted.

It should take us about 4-5 hours return, bring a pack lunch.
This is an ideal opportunity to get a leg stretch if you come with your partner or buddy up with another parent. You can walk in or out along the Cattle ridge or Mt McKerrow track, while your other half takes the kiddies and the company! You can switcheroo on the way home.

This is a definite no-go if the weather is bad, so if it is raining, we?ll try again some other time!

Happy Trails, Ally, Slime and Dom
