      Greetings fellow club members,

As you probably know there are a few of committee positions which need to be filled at the next AGM (13 April 2005). One of those positions is that of the Assistant Chief guide. This is the position that I am vacating after the AGM.

If you are interested in becoming a committee member, but haven?t been involved in committee work before, this may be the job for you. The job title is not really indicative of the job?s responsibilities. (You don?t actually do any guiding!) You don?t have to be a fit tramper, or have tramped for decades! It is more of an administrative role. The core responsibility of this job is the creation of the trip sheets that go on the notice board in the club. What you ideally should have to be able to do this job is:

      1. A basic knowledge of tramping locations in the bottom half of the North Island and top half of the South Island.
      2. A home PC with internet connection and the usual Microsoft office software.
      3. Be able to attend club night most Wednesday nights.

If you want to know more about this position, please feel free to contact me by e-mail or phone 232 9974
