Cycle to work on Cycle into Summer Day

Wellingtonians who bike to work on Wednesday 22 November can drop in to Civic Square between 7am and 9pm for free refreshments, music and bike safety checks.

Cycle into Summer Day ? organised by Wellington City Council, Greater Wellington and Bike Wise ? is designed to encourage all cyclists to cycle safely and make sure their bikes are as safe as possible.

City Councillor Ian McKinnon, who chairs the Council?s Road Safety Reference Group, says the breakfast event is particularly aimed at those summer cyclists who don?t ride regularly all year round.

?It?s a chance to get some safety tips and your bike checked to make sure it?s safe,? he says.

Cyclists who take part will also be able to go in the draw to win one of two $250 Rebel Sports vouchers along with other spot prizes on the day.
