High flooding affected the Tararuas on 08 January 08, up to 400mm.

A large slip has affected the Ohau River track near Blackwater Bridge at the junction of six discs track. This can be walked across with care. Other parts of the Tararuas may be affected especially roadends near Shannon, Otaki and Paraparaumu. Call Wayne Boness on 04 296 1112. Note that track damage may only be evident if tramped and reported, and might not be obvious from the air.

Thanks Stan. I plan to spend three weeks on tramping in Tararua Forest Park. Tramps include: The Tararua Peaks, Holdsworth-Kaitoke, and a walk in Northern Range. Hope these are not affected.
