Snowcraft 2016 will soon be upon us. Snowcraft participants will have priority over use of WTMC alpine gear over the period of the course. That means that from 6 July until 27 July there will be very limited alpine gear available for hire for other trips, if any.
If you were hoping to hire crampons or ice axes during that period for private trips, you might like to know that Bivouac hires out a small number of each. The Alpine Club can also hire gear to NZAC members (though they too have courses over this period).
More generally our club gear is a great asset and the club depends on its members to treat it as such to keep it available year after year. Thanks to everyone for being great at returning gear on time, clean and dry.
