Got alpine skills? Keen to use them to get a bit of experience and bag a few more peaks?
I’m leading a trip to Ruapehu South (Ohakune side) the weekend of Aug 28-30.
ALP1/2 Grade MF.
The plan is to climb Girdlestone and/or Tahurangi from a suitable base in Ohakune or beyond.
Tahurangi is the highest Peak in Tongariro NP while Girdlestone is just a fantastic climb.
If you are keen look out for the trip sheet at club or drop me an email. -

Hi John,
We usually have a scheduled trip to this peak sometime during the winter months. Outside of this there is not so much climbing. You would be welcome to sign up if you are about next winter. For obvious reasons we would to check up on your skills before that. May be you could come down to the club evening and have a chat.
Thanks
Mike – Chief Guide
