Hi…
It is just 2 weeks to go to this years Mt Lowry Challenge and we would love
you to be part of the challenge. It’s on Sunday 10th April 2005.It’s great to see so many of you have pre entered, this helps us out a great
deal. If you are taking up the challenge please send your forms to us ASAP,
however if you need you can enter on the day.Remember this is a great 12.75km run / walk taking in some of the wonderful
tracks in the Eastbourne area. You can downloan the entry form from ww.paardekooper.co.nz It’s under the community involvement / adventure racing area.
Last year we gave out 4 – 5 year medals, this year we have 9 people that
could get their 5 year medal.Race description:
This is a 12.75 km Premier Mountain run. The start and finish is at Williams
Park – Days Bay, Eastbourne. The race heads North from Days Bay along the seawall side of Marine Drive to
Lowry Bay, up to the end of Cheviot Road (4.5 km on road), from here it’s in
the bush all the way to the finish. The bush track is uneven with a number of areas covered in tree roots.
The first part of the bush section is a medium climb up to the main ridge
track, then the climb continues along the main ridge to Mt. Lowry (373 mts).
There are some wonderful views on the way and especially from Mt. Lowry.
From here the track is undulating and continues along the ridge until it
turns off the ridge and leads down to Williams Park Days Bay.Please pass this information on to anyone who you feel would like to hear
about the Mt Lowry Challenge. You can either click the forward buttom to
pass onto people, copy the entry form and send this off to people or give me
a call and I’ll arrange some entry forms to be sent to you.Look forward to seeing you on the 10th April….Happy training.
Best Regards
