Hi Folks!

Who can help? I was asked to suggest a family trip (youngest kid 6 years) over Easter. Somewhere between Wellington and Rotorua. Perferably with some top travel.

I suggested Jumbo Holdsworth over 3 days. Any idea if Sunrise Hut is a possible destination with kids? Any other good ideas? Something in Tongariro NP?

I am grateful for any suggestion.

The track to sunrise hut is very good, better than the one to Holdworth, the only problem might be too many people going there during holiday.

There are plenty off nice walks in the Tongariro NP and base yourself at the club lodge. If you are contact Bucks to order extra food for the easter, there is still plenty of room in the lodge but you will need contact Mona about it.

The walk into Blythe hut off the Ohakune mountain road is a goo one for kids – plenty to see, good track that gets above the bushline to a good hut. Whakapapiti hut is another good overnight trip for rugrats.
