Has anybody been up the Shin River (the major eastern branch of the Hodder River in the Inland Kaikouras)? I’m interested in any information about it. I presume it must be fairly similar to the main Hodder itself, but would be interested to find out about any difficult or impassable gorgey bits or waterfalls, any good campsites, and how easy it is to cross between the Shin and the Cam, the next river to the north-east (there’s an obvious-looking saddle between the headwaters of the two on the map).
