Hello all,
I am helping Caroline Dodson organise a trip to Tiri Tiri Matangi, an island bird sanctuary north of Auckland, 13th to 16th October.
We have had 2 spots come free if anyone is interested. This is an amazing opportunity, generally there is a 2 yr waiting list to visit the island overnight! There are Kiwi, stitchbirds and plenty of other rare natives.
Most of us are flying up to Auckland on the 13th (Thursday) and back on the Sunday (16th), you will need to organise your own flights or transport to AKL. We have reservations at a backpackers on the Thursday night, the ferry to the island leaves at 9am on Friday morning and returns to Auckland 4.50pm on Sunday afternoon. I have airport shuttles organised too if you want ‘in’.
