Hi

Has Anyone travelled along the Waingawa River to Cow Creek and/or Arete Forks recently? If so, I’d like some advice as to the track’s condition.

I’m planning a trip, from Holdsworth carpark, over the tops near Mitre and Brockett next weekend. If the weather is ok I was going to camp on the tops but if it’s not so flash (and I was at the northern end of that area) I was thinking I could drop down to Arete Forks and come out along the track next to the Waingawa via Cow Creek and Mitre Flats, then over the saddle and back down the Atiwhakatu.

Finding anything recent about this area is proving difficult.
