I am leading the E E/M club trip to Waitewaewae Hut in a couple of weeks. Can anyone tell me how the track is during rain, especially around Saddle creek.

Hi Andrew,

Like anywhere else in the world the track will be wet when it rains!

But seriously, this track is always wet, even when it is fine. The bottom line is that you probably won’t get to YTYY without getting your boots wet. Saddle creek should not be a problem unless you get incredibly bad weather. It does not have a big catchment.
