There is a tubing trip on the trip schedule down the Hutt Gorge next weekend (either 27th or 28th of January). This originally didn’t have a leader but I am now going to lead it (because I want to do it!). Tubing is a lot of fun and a great way to see some parts of rivers that you wouldn’t normally get to see otherwise. The trip involves about 6 hours of tubing from Kaitoke down to Te Marua, floating down the river through deep pools and some fun rapids. If you are interested in going, email me on . You need to have a wetsuit and a 20 inch truck inner-tube. You can often pick up an old inner-tube for free from Beaurepaires or somewhere like that, although you may have to hunt around a bit to track one down. Alternatively, there are a few people in the club who have tubes, so you may be able to borrow one.
