Hi all, i am hoping to do a private trip to the Tararua’s this coming Waitangi weekend and was wondering if anyone would like to join me as tramping alone is more dangerous than being with at least 1 other person…..as my partner keeps telling me!!! So with a compromise in mind is anyone interested in leaving this coming Friday morning for 2 nights in the Tararua’s? Thinking of starting from Otaki Forks and going to Penn Creek/Maungahuka area though i am open to any suggestions. My partner will drive us there and pick us up from wherever we want so we have various route options. Tramping level will be about Medium or M/F level. Only cost will be a petrol donation and of course hut fees, food etc…
